The Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) has adapted their program, Institution on College Futures (ICF), to an online format that informs college faculty and staff of the intricacies of higher education’s financial ecosystem. The program, previously offered in an in-person seminar style, was specifically designed with college educators in mind, many of whom are placed on college committees before they have a clear understanding of the economic challenges that their campuses face. The online program first became offered in July 2016 with 25 faculty and staff enrolled in the pilot.
ICF now incorporates adaptive problem sets, screencasts and various interactive online activities, allowing faculty who may be reluctant to implement e-learning in their own classrooms the opportunity to experience its elements first hand, while also providing them will the information needed to make informed decisions in the best interests of their college.
